The winner is able to demonstrate progress toward FIRST mission of transforming our culture the recipient team will be invited to the district championship where it will compete for the FIRST Impact award against winners from other qualifying events and compete with their robot.
Here is what the Judges had to say about the SciBorgs:
“Boldly going where few teams go, their members span boundaries of time and STATE to grow a community robotics program one BRICK at a time.
Sure, their top fundraiser is a little SPOOKY; But their STEM camps and Palouse-wide reach are SPROUTing opportunities that are downright inspiring their rural community.
As a result, the small burgs of Pullman and Moscow have a FIRST machine called the SciBorgs!”
